Hey Amanda,

Just got finished reading your three entries about your trip to Turkey. Sounds like a fantastic place to visit... and interesting to me because Turkey is the western bookend of the Turkish world whereas Xinjiang in China is the eastern bookend. So, if we add our experiences together we've probably covered the whole spectrum of Central Asia.

Not that this will help with your suffering, but I've noticed (or at least I believe it to be true) that most of these flus start in eastern Asia and make there way around the world, so the flu you've got now is probably the same sickness that I would have had a couple of months ago! Doesn't that make you feel better?

Get well.

Hi, Amanda. I'm a friend of your mom's; she gave me the blog address. Sounds like your semester is starting off great! My daughter is Ezra's grade, but already plotting to go overseas in college, so you're my test case as I never got to do it. So, stay safe!

I don't know it snowed where you are, so have learned something already.

Congrats on being so fluent in Hebrew already.

Hi there Amanda....

I've just gotten back from volunteering in a tiny Tibetan village for a month and have been taking a look at your blog. Seems like you're off to a good start. I look forward to reading more and seeing tons of photos. Stay safe.

Love,
your cousin Michael

Hi Amanda,
It's so much fun to read your blog. It brings back many wonderful memories of my junior year in Israel.

Where are all your roommates from? (both the school and the hometown)

How long does the ulpan last before classes start?

Love, Aunt Maddy

Sounds like a crazy time but fun. I am glad to hear that you are already finding people to hang out with. It is amazing that where every Jewish people go they have some kind of connection to other Jewish people. Hope classes start soon and that they are interesting. Looking forward to reading more about your semester. Love you.
